Prithiviraj is a 13-year-old boy from Kurumbampalayam, Coimbatore who has a very serious heart disease called Dilated Cardiomyopathy with severe bi-ventricular dysfunction.
His condition is unstable and he has been repeatedly brought to a Coimbatore based multi-specialty hospital when he encounters heart failure.
Medication is not improving the boy’s health condition, so he needs to undergo heart transplantation as quick as possible, or else he cannot survive.
He has been listed for heart transplantation under TRANSTAN (Transplant Authority of Tamil Nadu). The cost of the surgery, hospital stay, investigations and medications is approximately Rs.25,00,000/-
His father Vijay Kumar was doing grill fabrication works. Since the pandemic induced lockdown hit, the financial condition of the family started dropping down, and now they are in a poor state.
Through various fundraising initiatives, Rs.7 lakh has been raised so far; the same was confirmed by Vijay Kumar. The family is in need of support from the community, and if all come together and contribute, it could make a difference.
