Tamil Nadu Corporation for Development of Women, Mahlir Thittam, Coimbatore, Entrepreneurship Development Club and Women Empowerment Club of Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology (SKCET) recently organized a two days College Bazaar at the college.
The Chief Guest K.Selvarasu, Project Director, TNSRLM, Mahalir Thittam inaugurated the sales of SHG products.
Almost 30 SHG Groups displayed their products in the stall and products worth of 2 lakhs rupees are going to sale in the two days exhibition. These stalls in the exhibitions had products like leather and cloth bags, purses, ladies ornaments, modern fashion products for younger generations, food products etc.
While inaugurating the Bazaar, the Chief Guest said that everyone should understand the need of women and find out the ways to empower them. ‘It is the need of hour to promote the women to a newer role. A society cannot reach the top position without developing women community. We cannot get the fullest development in the society without the participation of women,’ he said.
Earlier, Dr.J.Janet, Principal of the college initiated the sales of SHG products. D.Nithya, Manager, District Supply and Marketing Society, Dr.C.Ramakrishnan, Director, School of Management, SKCET, Dr.S.Sophia, Head of the department of ECE, Professors and Students participated.
