Dr.N.G.P. Institute of Technology is conducting a one week Short Term Training Program (STTP) for faculty on ‘Disaster Management and Mitigation’. It is being organized by the college’s Civil Engineering Department between August 3rd and August 8th,2020. It is an AICTE -New Delhi sponsored program.
The STTP was inaugurated by Col.B.Venkat, Director (Faculty Development Cell), AICTE, New Delhi. He delivered the Inaugural Address in which he explained the need for people to know about the techniques to manage and mitigate Disasters.
Dr.K.Panivelu, Director, Center for Climate Change and Disaster Management, Anna University, Chennai was the Guest of Honor.
Dr.Nalla G Palaniswami, Chairman, KMCH and Dr.Thavamani D Palaniswami, Secretary, Dr.NGP IT delivered the Presidential address and Special Address, respectively. The STTP consists of 10 sessions in 5 days and the finals will be of Online Test Assessment.
Participants from various parts of Tamil Nadu and across India attended the virtual event. It is being conducted in three phases and first is getting completed on August 8. The second and third phase will be held on September 7-12 and October 5-10,2020.
