“Harmony Park” for the elderly

C.R.I. as a unique initiative in association Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation inaugurated the “HARMONY PARK” at the Corporation reserve site at Chandra Gandhi Nagar, Peelamedu, Coimbatore held recently.

Dr. K. Vijayakarthikeyan, I.A.S, Commissioner, Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation inaugurated the park along with G. Selvaraj, Joint Managing Director, C.R.I. Group of Companies.

The park is developed in 25.5 cents of land and TNED department has shifted the TNEB transformers in the midst of the park to the nearby location and thus making the park to the optimum usage of people. The park is exclusively designed for elders. A compound is constructed wall is constructed and installed with 2 gates, one in the main and other at the backside.

However, initially the entire park was cleared and later on leveling of ground, gravel filling and paver block for walker’s path was laid. Walkers path is been laid in the best possible way and it doesn’t have any steps from the entry to the exit. Ramp has been provided from the road to paved area.

The walker’s path is Wheel chair friendly. Seating arrangements with stone bench (6 no’s) has also been provided. The park is lighted with solar lighting.

To provide enough greenery and shade in the park, it is being filled with trees and plants saplings like Vilvam, Shenbagam, Sorgam, Kadamba, Maramalli, Neem tree, Sarakonnara, Arasa Maram, Karunetchi, Singapoori Mahilam. Karunetchi, Singapoori, Mahilam, Mahakkani, May flower, Pethodia & Gardi. Plants like Bendas, Manduvial and date queen and flowering plants line Night Queemamd Pavalamalli has also been planted.

We are working in association with RAAC (Resident Awareness Association of Coimbatore) and GRG Chandra Gandhi Nagar Welfare Association to make the Harmony Park a unique one emphasizing the needs of the elderly people, says C.R.I. Pumps.
