Shakthi Institute celebrates Women’ Day in the Fun Way

Sri Shakthi Institute of Engineering and Technology (SIET) conducted International Women’s Day Celebrations recently with programs based on women’s growth and motivation. A Walkathon was conducted on March 6th emphasizing the theme of this year’s Women’s Day -Each for Equal.

The Women of SIET joined together in this event to fight for gender equality and women’s rights. Students marched from Royal Care Hospital to SIET and another batch commenced from Irugur to SIET.

On the same day, a team from Pink Anee Organic Sanitary Napkin collaborated with the college to create awareness on menstrual hygiene and management.

Dr.Maya Mahajan, Associate Professor at Amrita University and Radhika, Entrepreneur joined addressed the students. Dr.Maya Mahajan motivated the students to involve in research work and do projects which will be useful for nature and human needs. Radhika shared her journey as an entrepreneur and delivered a lecture on self-confidence. She stressed that positivity would create a great impact on students.

On March 7th, the stage was given for women to parade their talents. Many women participated enthusiastically. Fun games were also conducted for the college faculties. Through the event.

Accelerate your Passion, a long bike ride from SIET to Thirumoorthy Dam was arranged on March 8th. Students from various colleges participated in this trip. The women bike riders rode with pride and joy. A women’s day rowing event was also held in the same day.
