Three-Day health fair in CODISSIA to promote AYUSH

The three-day Arogya Fair starting from Friday (13.12.19)  at COD1SSIA is being jointly organized by Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, Government of Tamil Nadu and PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry. The aim is to promote Ayurveda. Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy (AYUSH), one of the oldest methods of treatment in the country.

Mr E.V. Shiril, Chairman of Kerala State Chapter, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry stated that, “Tamil Nadu has a huge resource of medical plants and it had an old tradition of using natural cures for various ailments. The main purpose of the initiative is to showcase strength of Indian systems of medicines and the benefits people can get from the traditional treatment. There are many diseases which can be better treated through the AYUSH system.”

Speaking on the occasion Mr Vivek Seigell, Principal Director, Health Committee, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry said, ” This is an opportunity for Tamil Nadu to promote and expand their Ayush capabilities for the benefit  the society.” He added that free health consultation with AYUSH medical practitioners, free distribution of medicines, free lectures on specific disease and free selective cultural evenings will also be organized. In addition, Shirodhara and Leech Therapy etc will be demonstrated.

Various health checkup camps will be conducted in the fair till 15th December. There are free medicine camps, free yoga advice and free interactive sessions on health care being conducted. Various medicinal companies from across the state have put up stalls in the fair.
