The Department of Microbiology, Sree Narayana Guru College organized the “Inauguration of Microbiology Association” recently. K.A. Pankaj Kumar, Joint Secretary, SNGET and Dr. K.V. Surendran, Principal, SNGC were present. Dr. M. Thangavel, Head, Department of Microbiology was the guest of honor. Dr. P. Lakshmanaperumalsamy, Emeritus Professor, Department of Environmental Sciences, Bharathiyar University, elaborated the “Scope & Opportunities for Microbiologists” and created awareness among the microbiology students regarding the various roles of microbiologists in the fields like Food Microbiology, Industrial Microbiology, Medical Microbiology, Marine Microbiology etc. He also highlighted other opportunities such as Entrepreneurship and Marketing were also explained in detail.
