IIT Bombay Remote Center & KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology’s Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering organized a one-day workshop on “R” Programming Language the latter’s Networks Laboratory on 09.11.19 for the faculty members of all colleges.
The workshop was conducted by the Teaching Learning Centre of IIT Bombay, supported by FOSSEE & Spoken Tutorials, funded by the Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya National Mission on Teachers andTeaching (PMMMNMTT), an initiative of the Ministry of Human ResourceDevelopment, Government of India.
Prof. Radhendushka Srivastava, Department of Mathematics, IIT Bombay presided as the chief guest and gave a brief insight about R programming language which is a free/ Libre and Open Source Software (FLOSS) – a well organized and sophisticated package – that facilitates data analysis, modelling, inferential testing, and forecasting. It is a user-friendly software thatallows creating new function commands to solve statisticalproblems.
The hands-on training session was conducted using spoken tutorials for the faculty participants from Karunya University, Coimbatore and KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore. The hands-on training session was supported by G.K.JakirHussain, RWorkshop Coordinator and G.Nalini, Technical Staff of R Workshop.
