The NGP School celebrates International Year of Periodic Table

The year 2019 is declared the International Year of Periodic Table of Chemical Elements by the United Nations.  The NGP School, Kalapatti, Coimbatore had organized a State level IYPT competition recently at the NGP Campus to commemorate the IYPT Celebrations.

Dr. Bipul Behari Saha , Homi Babha Gold Medalist & IUPAC Titular member was the chief Guest of the event. Around 300 students from 35 schools across the state participated in the events conducted on the day. Events like Innovative Depiction of Periodic Table and the significance of Periodic Table on other branches of Science brought out the creativity of the students. Quiz and Recitation of 118 Elements exhibited the knowledge of the students in that area. The Judges were experts in Chemistry from various institutions in and around Coimbatore.

In ‘Innovative Depiction of Periodic Table’ Gurukulam Higher Secondary School , The Nilgiris, won the first place. The NGP School, Kalapatti, won the first place in ‘The Significance of Periodic Table on Other Branches of Science’, Sri  National School, Erode bagged the first place in ‘Recitation of 118 Elements Competition’ and St. Judes Public School , Kothari won the first place in the ‘Quiz Competition’.

The state level competition revealed the significance of Periodic Table of Chemical Elements and reminded the noble work of the Nobel Laureate Dmitri Ivanovich Mendeleev.
