11th BRICS summit to take place Nov 13th; Modi leaves for Brazil

The 11th BRICS summit which is scheduled to take place between Nov 13th and 14th in Brazil will see Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi holding important discussions with his fellow BRICS members.  Modi who has left for Brazil will stay there for the summit which will take place in the  iconic Itamaraty Palace.

Vladimir Putin, President, Russia;  Xi Jinping, President, China; Jair Bolsonaro, President, Brazil and Cyril Ramaphosa, President, South Africa will join with Modi in discussing the theme of this year’s summit-  Economic Growth for an Innovative Future.

The key topics in focus will be strengthening of the cooperation in science, technology and innovation, enhancement of the cooperation on digital economy, invigoration of the cooperation on the fight against transnational crime, especially against organized crime, money laundry and drug traffic, and encouragement to the rapprochement between the New Development Bank (NDB) and the BRICS Business Council.

This is the second time Brazil is hosting the summit; it first hosted on 2010.
