ICCIC thanks Minister S.P.Velumani

The Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Coimbatore, on behalf of its Members and people of Coimbatore region thanked S.P.Velumani, Minister for Municipal Administration, Rural Development and Implementation of Special Program for announcing various infrastructural projects for the people of this industrial city during the launch of “Cauvery Calling” held recently in the city.

Minister S.P.Velumani, while addressing the gathering announced that the State Government is taking up construction of over bridges in Coimbatore to ease out the traffic congestion, particularly the construction 9.5 km over bridge from Park Gate before Anna Statue to Coimbatore Airport at Avinashi Road. For this project Government has allotted Rs.1000 crores. He said once the construction of over bridge is completed the people can reach airport within 4 to 5 minutes without any hindrance.

The Minister also mentioned about Athikadavu-Avinashi water project, which will be completed soon and water problems of Coimbatoreans will be solved.

He said that towards infrastructural development – Metro Rail Project will also be taken for early implementation. He also conveyed that the Coimbatore Airport Expansion Projects will be taken up by completing land acquisition process on war footing. The chamber expressed its cooperation and thankfulness to the Minister.
