We are already witnessing an increased demand for blockchain experts and we are sure it will grow further in the future. However, India is still facing a talent demand and supply gap and it can only be addressed when we have more students enrolling for these courses and get trained.  EMURGO Academy Ignitive Labs aims to train students who are willing to explore their career in blockchain space and make them industry-ready.”

Talking to The Covai Mail, E.Venkatesan said Blockchain technology is progressing in India. He mentioned that the tech could make a big difference in the field of finance, logistics, and agriculture and in industries where safety of the data is important. He stated that data stored through blockchain technology is a lot secure than storing in servers. He conveyed that blockchain offers traceability. The tech offers users the ability to track what changes have been made to the data. Industries which require data tracking, like Logistics; would find Blockchain very useful.

Talking about the course duration, he said that there will be 4 programs. For entry level students, there will be a 40 hours program in which the foundation about blockchain will be given to the course-takers.  Once the student finds his footing strong in the course, he can move on for higher levels which wil have longer durations; approximately 180 hours.

Students of PSG Tech who perform well in the introductory program will be moved to the R&D program and internships will also be offered to them.  He mentioned that the Government of India has organized a workshop last year and lots of state governments are taking initiatives. Last week, our CM has announced that some of the key projects will be in blockchain. So it is growing.

Mentioning the eligibility, he said that being a student of PSG is itself eligibility for the foundation program.  Going to the next level, the students need to exhibit excellence, once they do well then sky is the limit. If the student is selected for Junior Fellowship program, he will go to New York and will be paid about 30,000 USD for 6 months.

People with strong programming knowledge, programming skills, logical thinking and mathematical skills can flourish in this tech.
