PSG College of Technology organised the Graduation Ceremony for the Science stream on 28th June 2025 at the PSG IMSR Auditorium.

Anand Deshpande, Founder, Chairman & Managing Director of Persistent Systems, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

L. Gopalakrishnan, Managing Trustee of PSG & Sons’ Charities, presided over the ceremony.

Prakasan, Principal of the college gave the special address.

The Chief Guest awarded medals to eight rank holders and conferred degree certificates to 361 graduates.

The Chief Guest, Dr. Anand Deshpande, in his address, spoke about India’s demographic advantage and told the graduates that they would witness the year 2100. He highlighted India’s economic growth and stated that by the end of this decade, India is expected to become the third-largest economy in the world.

Emphasizing the role of technology, he said that the exponential growth in this field would continue for a long time. Speaking about the future of jobs, he advised the graduates not to expect lifetime employment from any employer. Instead, he encouraged them to become job creators rather than job seekers.

Deshpande also offered a few ideas to prepare for the future. He urged the graduates to dream big and be ambitious. He emphasized the importance of continuous learning as the key to success.

He also encouraged them to work collaboratively, highlighting the value of teamwork and networking across different disciplines. Finally, he spoke about the need to have strong personal value systems and stressed the importance of being persistent.

The Science stream comprises various programmes, including the five-year integrated M.Sc. in Software Systems, Theoretical Computer Science, Data Science, Cyber Security, and Fashion Design and Merchandising; the two-year M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics; the Master of Computer Applications (MCA); and the three-year B.Sc. in Computer Systems and Design and Applied Science.
