387 airline Deaths in less than 365 Days

Travelling via airplanes was once thought to be the safest means of transportation. That is what we were once taught in school. However, in the recent times, there has been a great increase in the amount of airplane related deaths and injuries.

When Malaysian Airlines carrying 239 vanished in 2014, it was thought as a rare event but as years have passed, we now realize that these incidents are on the rise and we only need to just pay attention to the details.

For instance, on May 6th, 2019, a flight in Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport that made an emergency landing immediately after taking off burst into flames and it killed 41 of its passengers. If we go back to March 10th, 2019, Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302 crashed in just under seven minutes after taking off and all the 157 people aboard were killed in the incident.

Last year, on October 29, Indonesian airplane Lion Air Flight 610 which was carrying 189 passengers crashed into the sea after just 12 mins. So far 3 accidents have occurred in under 365 Days and 387 people have died. The cause of crash is being investigated and the two aircraft crashes in 2019 are from the manufacturer Boeing.
