Biometric attendance in Govt.Schools from June

The Department of School Education, Tamil Nadu has ordered all the Chief Education Officers of the districts in Tamil Nadu to ensure that the Biometric Attendance System is in effect in all the Government and Government Aided Schools from June, 2019 onwards.

Earlier it was said that from Jan 10 this year, the biometric attendance system to register the arrival of the teaching and non-teaching faculty in Government and Government Aided Schools will be made effective but due to the time and technological assistance and infrastructure needed for the mass implementation, this vision is yet to be wholly achieve.

Now,  the Department of School Education has asked the Chief Education officers to ensure that all the 7,726 government and government aided higher secondary schools have installed the biometric system  and report on its functioning from June.

The CEOs were also asked to verify the Aadhar Data of the teaching and non-teaching faculty along with the biometric data and upload them to the Education Department’s Management Website. The Department has further asked the CEOs to submit the progress of the implementation.
