Ganga Institute hosts Graduation &Lamp Lighting Ceremony

Ganga Institute of Health Sciences celebrated its decennial year along with the Graduation and Lamp Lighting ceremony for GNM.BSC(N),PBBSC(N) and AHS courses recently.

Dr.Raja Sabapathy, Head of the Department of Plastic and Micro Surgery Ganga Hospital welcomed the gathering. The Chief Guest for the program was Dr.P.V.Vijayaraghavan, Vice Chancellor of Sri Ramachandra Medical University, Chennai and the Guest of Honour was Dr.S.Ani Grace Kalaimathi, Registrar of Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council, Chennai.

Dr.P.V.Vijayaraghavan, Vice Chancellor of SRMU emphasized that attaining a degree is an important milestone in one’s life. However this is just a stepping stone leading students to a career path in education, Healthcare, Research and may be even administration.

Dr.S.Ani Grace Kalaimathi, Registrar of Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council in her address said that the Introduction of competency based nursing curriculum will upgrade the nursing practice and nursing education. This will bring the rich experience of the teaching faculty for better treatment for patients. Nurses are really in the forefront in evolving quality indicators in health care, she added.

During the Lamp Lighting Ceremony 124 young nursing buds lighted their lamp as a symbol of their dedication to Nursing and took the pledge.

Totally 288 students successfully graduated, received their degrees awards. During the event the Souvenir, College book and Institutional Anthem were released.

Following this, the Chief Guest presented the awards to the meritorious students, Best outgoing and clinical performers along with the distribution of Scholarship awards to students for their academic excellence.

Dr.Rajasekaran, Head of the Department of Orthopedic and Spine Surgery,  Ganga hospital proposed the Vote of Thanks.
