Tamil Nadu Government issued notice that NEET is not mandatory for those who wish to pursue AYUSH courses in 2018-19. However on December 2018 the Ministry of AYUSH had released a circular that NEET exam is mandatory for all the AYUSH Medical courses.
By 2019 there was a notice released mentioning that NEET is not required for Bachelor of Naturopathy and Yoga Science (BNYS). But a situation has been created that admissions for Siddha (BSMS), Homeopathy (BHMS), Ayurveda (BAMS), Unani (BUMS) NEET exam is mandatory.
But Tamil Nadu government has not issued any notice yet whether NEET exam will be mandatory or not. Due to this the students who are interested for AYUSH medical courses have not been advised to apply for NEET exam. Hence if Tamil Nadu government immediately releases a notice regarding this, the confusion among the students and the parents will be cleared which could facilitate in students joining the course.
