Success starts when you learn from Mistakes- Navaneetha Krishnan

Kasthuri Sreenivasan Art Gallery in Avanashi Road, Coimbatore hosts several unique Art Exhibitions to highlight various unique talents in and around the city.

From April 3rd to 7th, the famed Art Gallery will showcase the watercolor paintings of Navaneetha Krishnan, a fantastic artist who lets his painting do the talking. The inauguration of the event took place in the presence of Vanitha Mohan, Chairman, Pricol and Managing Trustee, Siruthuli. She inaugurated the expo, admired the paintings and had an interaction with Navaneetha Krishnan.

Taking the theme “Women of India”, Navaneetha Krishnan has meticulously crafted 26 exquisite watercolor paintings that capture perfectly the intricacies in a splendid fashion.

For each painting, he has taken the women from different States of India. When asked whether he selected women as his theme and drew women, keeping in mind of International Women’s Day or something else; he said with a smile that women around him have always helped him mold his skills and confidence.

Navaneetha Krishnan works in Sri Ramakrishna Central School (CBSE), Avarampalayam as a teacher of Arts & Craft. For a 23 year old man, he really seemed very sensible and brimming with optimism. “I spent 5 years to study about the techniques of water coloring. During these 5 years I learned so much. I made mistakes and learned how to draw well through those mistakes. I believe success starts when we learn from our mistakes.”

To draw these pictures, it took him nearly two and half years. When it comes to art he said, he considers Water Color Artist Rajkumar as his guru and Artist Santhanakrishnan as  his biggest inspiration and mentor who crafted the craftsman in him well.

“Females today, with the help of technology can make wonders right from their own house and I firmly believe we must have their role in the society because it is women who can groom the society better and they have solid leadership skills”, he said.

When asked who his inspiration is when it comes to life, Navaneethan wrapped his arms around his mother, father and sister and said “These are my inspiration… They taught everything about life”

He stated that his sister withdrew her higher studies to take care of him and her family in the past.

He also said women in his workplace, most notably his school principal Priscilla Rani and other female colleagues guided him in his aspirations. “Women are soft natured and to be an artist, one needs a bit of softness in him and fortunately for me, I have women around me to inspire and guide.”
