The School of Communication at Dr. G.R.Damodaran College of Arts & Science has over the years produced brilliant students who have earned a name for themselves in the field of Cinema. Every year, the School of Communication, hosts Avtar International Film Festival and this year the theme for the same was “Cinema Verite”. This is the 11th edition of the Avtar International Film Festival and the ceremony was inaugurated by T.Santha, Principal, D.Sasikala, HOD, School of Communication, Dr. GRD College of Arts & Science.
The Chief Guests for the occasion were Sajeesh Rajendran, Cinematographer and Anil Krishnan, Editor, Founder- Pixelite Studios. The festival was held at Charles Babbage Hall. The event saw screening of approximately 20 ad films, documentaries and short films from various colleges across Tamil Nadu. Avtar is an initiative to get the student community venture into the art of film making.
