Modi donates Rs.1.4 Crores for India

India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi was accorded the prestigious Seoul Peace Prize Award for 2018 on 22.02.2019 in Seoul Special City, South Korea.  The Prime Minister was bestowed with the award for his efforts in promoting global peace and harmony. Moon Jae-In, the President of South Korea presented the award. After receiving the award in his acceptance speech, the PM said “This award does not belong to me personally but to the people of India, the success India has achieved in the last 5 years, powered by the skill of 1.3 billion people.”

Modi expressed this gratitude to South Korea for extending its support and condolences during India’s time of grief. He stated that the time to unite and act against terrorism has come. He said only by doing so can the world find harmony, development and peace. He further said that in today’s world, radicalisation and terrorism have become globalised and are the biggest threats to global peace and security.

He felt one with South Korea which has suffered similar wounds when it was pursuing peaceful ties with its neighbour.

He also said “The time has come for all those who believe in humanity to join hands, to completely eradicate terrorist networks and their financing supply channels and counter terrorist ideology and propaganda.”

PM Modi was also given a 200,000 USD (Rs.1.4 crores) as prize money which he magnanimously donated to the Namami Gange Fund (River Ganga Rejuvenation Plan).
