Ramesh Babu owns an opulent collection 60+cars that includes Rolls Royce and then some other jaw dropping classic luxury cars. He runs Ramesh Tours & Travels which serves domestic & international clients whosoever is interested in renting luxury and standard cars for a brief period.
Ramesh hails from Ejipura, Bengaluru and he is a very humble guy. You will feel our awe for him when you finish reading his life’s story. He lost his dad in the year 1979. His dad was a barber and his saloon was the only wealth he left for him. His mother gave the shop for rent and got Rs.5 as a daily rent. She took different household jobs to serve the family. Ramesh on the other hand went to school and delivered newspapers.
His mother’s income was just between Rs.30 – 40 and they both would eat just one meal a day. Did you hear that? Just one meal a day! His poverty made him perseverant and he began to work to better his family’s circumstances. What he didn’t know then was the destination his perseverance would take. Ramesh was only striving to make his family eat 3 times a day. After finishing his higher studies from St.Joseph’s College of Commerce, Bengaluru he took over his father’s salon and he hired barbers to work there.
The shop gave him some decent income and his life was going okay. One fine day when his barbers were away, a rich man came to cut his hair. Ramesh had no other option but to say sorry as he was not qualified to cut. But the client on the other hand wanted him to give a try. Ramesh who was naturally gifted with grooming skills made his debut, a delighting day and the client was so happy with the hair cut he gave, that he paid him double his standard fee.
This inspired Ramesh, a lot and he soon started to learn more about hair styling, took up a course and did everything in his thirst to be the best at what he does. He renovated his salon. His hard work gave fruit and he started to expand his clientele. He was at that moment doing not just okay but good. He improved his life and bought a Maruti Van. His mother who was working a petty job for a big IT firm, advised him lease the car for the company. Her idea earned him much, he learned that investing in salon alone would not take him to the next level and he soon began to invest in many other cars.
But this was not so easy for his or for his ‘up and coming’ business but he took the risk of investing in cars and began Ramesh Tours & Travels. He took loans and started his business. “Nobody else was investing in cars like these and I had an advantage”, he said in an interview. His passion and perseverance coupled with good fortune made him achieve higher status as an established businessman. Now his ‘Ramesh Tours & Travels’ has become a leading company that has a priceless collection of posh cars which many rich men can only dream of. He owns a Rolls Royce, Jaguar, Bentley and Maybach and much more. He rents them for clients and his client list includes celebrities from Bollywood to big shots of India.
No matter how huge he has become, he never becomes tried to give a good haircut.
