TWGIS celebrates World Energy Conservation Day

Recently, the Nature Club of The Western Ghats International School (TWGIS) celebrated the World Energy Conservation Day in its school campus.

Sashi Kumar Samraj, Secretary, TWGIS, presided over the function.  N. Muralidharan, Assistant Executive Engineer, Madukkarai was the Chief Guest.

During the event, ‘History of lights’ was explained by the Montessori students of Grade IV. Abinaya , President, Nature Club welcomed the gathering.  An interesting ‘Big Bang Action’ was initiated by the guest by breaking the incandescent bulbs.  The students Anamika M. glorified the advantage of CFL and LED bulbs. Ananthakrishnan A. S. and Adarsh P. of grade VIII briefed the practical tips to conserve energy. Sai Surya of grade VIII administered pledge to the students to conserve electrical energy.

The Chief Guest explained the importance of conserving electrical energy. Competitions on energy conservation like 21 Day Challenge, Poster Design, and Slogan Writing were conducted.  The Chief Guest distributed prizes for the winners of these competitions.
