Ganga Institute of Health Sciences aim to polish Nurses on Safe Practices

Ganga Institute of Health Sciences recently organized a one day workshop on ‘Creating Safe Practices – Nurses to Impact the Quality of Care in Burns’ .  The workshop was inaugurated by Nirmala Rajasabapathy, Director, Ganga Hospitals. Rama Rajasekran, Director, Ganga Hospital addressed the gathering during the workshop.  She said nurses play a major role in curing the Burn Injury Patients.  She further said that the role of nurses extend to treating patients with severe complications such as disability and disfigurement due to burns, and also aiding them to recover quickly while not compromising on the quality of care.

She mentioned that to cover up the magnitude of burn injuries nearly 9 work stations have been arranged in fully equipped venues. All these work stations were handled by the senior consultants along with nursing professors. The credit hours were approved by   Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council.

During the Workshop, the important topics were discussed using live models and hands on skill training was offered to all the delegates.

The total number of nurses participated in this workshop were about 50 nurses from various reputed hospitals like PSG, KMCH, Royal care, Chennai hospitals, Ashwin hospital & Ganga hospital .

Also, to bring up the creativity of nurses there was a poster presentation held on the topic of “Prevention of burns”. The participants displayed their posters under the same theme. The best poster was selected and awarded for its potential.
