India to get its 1st Domestic Cruise

India’s first domestic luxury cruise, Angriya, will begin its commercial operations from October 24. This single step is expected to boost the country’s lagging cruise service sector, by opening doors for similar services which are expected to start plying from April next year. She will make four trips between Mumbai and Goa every week and the journey will take 14 hours.

The cruise will have both luxury rooms as well as dormitory type rooms with the tickets priced between 6,000-10,000. The cruise has a discotheque which will remain open till 2 A.M., a 24 hour coffee shop and for those who love music with the sea’s noise there will live music on top of the deck in the evening.

Angriya will also house spas and infinity pool on the deck. The rooms and dormitories have been named after sea forts and sea animals. The cruise has a capcity of carrying 346 passengers. The cruise will make four trips between Mumbai and Goa everyweek.
