SRH receives NABH’s Certification for Nursing Excellence

First Hospital in Coimbatore

Sri Ramakrishna Hospital (SRH) conveyed on Wednesday that it has received certification of Nursing Excellence from the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare (NABH), Quality Council of India.

The team from Board visited SRH campus and conducted the inspection between September 19 and 20, 2021 analyzing the quality of nursing care at the site. The Board announced the results on December 23, 2021, stating that the hospital is found to comply with NABH’s standard for Nursing Excellence.

“The Board works with a vision to provide sophisticated treatment at par with global benchmarks. The council set specific parameters that count in the accreditation. This certification is provided after analyzing the quality of nursing care, attitude of the nursing staff, maintenance of documents, the ratio of nurse-patient, and the feedback which plays an essential role in the certification. Patient feedback is crucial to help the people identify the best hospital in the district in comparison to others,” a statement from the Hospital mentioned.

Dr.Karpagam, the Chief Nursing Officer of the hospital shared that the entire Nursing Department worked tirelessly to get this recognition. “We implemented all of the NABH’s protocols for Nursing Excellence and appointed a well-qualified coordinator to oversee how they are rolled out. We gathered reports on how satisfied are the patients with our overall care,” she said.

She added that SRH has well-experienced nurses rendering world-class care to patients, and this recognition further ensures that the hospital delivers safe, efficient and ethical nursing practice.

Dr. Sukumaran, the Dean and Director of the hospital said “It is an auspicious moment for all of us at Sri Ramakrishna Hospital, as we are the first hospital in Coimbatore to have our Nursing Department accredited by NABH.”
