Omicron cases in India reach 653, govt releases state-wise list

In the last 24 hours, the Omicron COVID-19 variant cases in India jumped by 75, thereby making the total number of cases to 653. The nation has seen 186 cases recover from this variant’s clutches, so far.

According to a State-wise list shared by news agency ANI, Maharashtra, Delhi, Kerala stand as the most affected States in the country with 167, 165 and 57 cases respectively.

Maharashtra has reported the highest number of Omicron cases at 167, followed by Delhi at 165. Kerala has reported 57 cases, while Telangana, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu have reported 55, 49, 46 and 34 respectively. These numbers are the total cases reported so far.

In Tamil Nadu, 16 people affected by this variant have recovered, according to the report, and on Tuesday Morning,  Health Minister of Tamil Nadu Ma.Subramaniam reportedly stated that only 5 affected are in treatment.
