Avinashilingam Institute expresses solidarity with differently-abled

International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2021 was observed by Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women, Coimbatore on Friday. 

Premavathy Vijayan, Vice-Chancellor of the institute recollected how this institution was a pioneer in providing inclusive Education to the differently-abled,  since 1981. She emphasized that there should be no discrimination on any grounds, in providing the needed support and education for them.

“C.K.Amruthavalli, Headmistress of Kasthurba Gandhi Oral School for the Hearing Impaired, Coimbatore, the proud and privileged mother of Ranjith, with hearing impairment who cleared Indian Civil Services Exam was the chief guest for the occasion. She shared her experiences and the challenges faced in reaching this path to glory,” a press release from the institution mentioned. 

  Faculty and student of the Department of Special Education, students with disabilities pursuing Higher participated in the program. Earlier, T. Geetha, Dean, School of Education welcomed the gathering. At the end of the event, K.Sambathrani, Associate professor, Department of Special Education concluded with vote of thanks.
