Mad love for Soccer blossoms at Pioneer

It is becoming obvious that the craze towards football is catching fire at Pioneer Institutions.

Recently the CRV Sports Academy from Pioneer Trust and Raman Vijayan Soccer School, founded by one of Indian Football’s legends, Raman Vijayan organized Two-weeks football camp for Pioneer Institutions’ students.

More than 100 students participated in this camp, and according Ms. Aparna the Managing Trustee of Pioneer Trust, this was the beginning of an incredible football journey for Pioneer. Mr.Vijayan said he was overwhelmed to see such a number of students attend the camp. Rain or shine, right from the camp, the students proved to be quick learners and embraced the opportunity ahead of them in sports.

Following this, the two entities jointly organized an Open Football Clinic for interested players between 8-18 years of age, on Tuesday.

The Clinic was held at Pioneer Arts and Science College grounds. The sessions included Field Training, Classroom Training and two Exhibition Matches played by players of Pioneer Institutions and Noble Football Academy, at Pallikoodam, Coimbatore.

Raman Vijayan oversaw the Football clinic where the participants were taught about the ABCs of football, maintaining health and increasing their game knowledge The participants upskilled their football brilliance through this camp.

The special invitees including heads of various Pioneer Institutions presented the participation certificates to the players at a formal ceremony held later in the evening.

Ms.Aparna, Managing Trustee of Pioneer Institutions appreciated the participants of the camp and the clinic session for their immense love towards football. She wanted them to continue playing & practicing football and learn the nuances of sports. Though not all will decide to become a pro-footballer, she said they can be Club players and shine still.

Mr.Vijayan appreciated the student-participants. He shared with them that he was born in a village with very thin opportunities to make it big in the world. “I began from zero. I loved football and my journey began from there, I played for India and for many great clubs”, he shared.

He also was highly appreciative of the girls who attended the camp. It was announced at the event that a dedicated academy is coming for them.

It was evident that the best is yet to come from Pioneer, particularly with sports.
