National Service Scheme (NSS) of Kongunadu Arts and Science College organized a one-day Orientation Programme for NSS Volunteers about “Role of NSS volunteers” on 19.11.2021. R. Velmurugan, NSS Program Officer, welcomed the gathering followed by the presidential address by C. A. Vasuki, Secretary and Director of the College.
The orientation was inaugurated by R. Annadurai, NSS- Programme Coordinator, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, who explained the benefits of NSS and skill enhancement and knowledge dissemination for reaching Government schemes to the rural area through NSS – Volunteers and he focused on the Swachh Bharat, Unnat Bharat Abiyan, Swachh Bharat Summer Internship, Swachh Bharat Mega Camping event, FIT India Programme and other Central Government and State Government Projects.
Further, he explained about Pre-RD camp, Special camp and National Integration camp, etc., The felicitations were given by Dean Academics S.R. Madhansankar who motivated the students to serve for our nation. The vote of thanks was proposed by A. Amuthalakshmi, NSS- Programme Officer. V. Meiyalagan and L. Kathirvelkumaran NSS-Programme Officers have coordinated the programme.
