CII holds conference on future of health care

A strong stakeholder arrangement needs to be put in place to play a critical role as a catalyst by creating an enabling ecosystem that draws investments from both domestic and international players. It is with this background, CII Coimbatore is organizing a major initiative, Healthcare Start-Up Connect: The Future of Health, a 2 day virtual initiative on 19 & 20 November 2021.

Swathy Rohit, Conference Chairperson delivering the theme address mentioned that Paradigm shift in healthcare innovation requires multi-disciplinary and multi-stakeholder approach with strong collaboration of the players.

She quoted that innovation is the buzzword, especially in healthcare industry it has brought in tremendous changes and added a reference that Medical Technology-based companies have brought in 2.3 billion dollar investments since 2014. She added that healthcare providers need validated outcomes while they identify digital solutions.

It is also imperative that digital health entrepreneurs work closely with providers and peers, to figure out the complex challenge in implementing the solutions. She also delved on themes Funding in Digital Health, Digital Therapeutics, Tele Health, Tech-enabled Universal Healthcare (UHC) Platforms, Health Insurtech and Tech in Mental Health and mentioned that these areas have to be visualized to understand how they influence healthcare.

Dr JS Bhuvaneswaran, Convenor, CII Coimbatore – Healthcare Panel & Director, PSG Hospitals mentioned a country like India has various medical services at different level. Satisfaction is the only expectation from the patients.

He also said that the changes that the hospital industry has come across through the smart set-up is tremendous. Further he added that the transactions of the health care system have shifted from Cash to e-transaction, the new innovations in the Medical Equipment, Medical technology and patient handling has brought lot of comfortableness between the Doctors and the Patients.

The percentage of the amount allotted by the Indian government is minimal. The initiative Jan Arokia Yojana of our PM would definitely bring new changes in the near future. If all these players work in sync and tandem, we can surely make the 7.7 billion people in the world accessible and affordable to healthcare and live happily.
