Several parts of India are focused on reducing plastic-wastes, especially single-use plastics. Recently, Coimbatore Metropolitan Ladies Circle 23 (CMLC 23) took up the initiative ‘No Plastic Bag Day’ campaign in order to encourage the use of sustainable materials for packaging.
When it found that a unique convenience store called ‘Earth Story’ is taking efforts to promote a green culture, the association honoured it by handing over free, reusable cloth bags to applaud their efforts. CMLC 23 sponsored cloth bags with ‘Ladies Circle lndia’ logo.
Earth Story, located at Perks Arch Road promotes products that are eco-friendly, free from animal cruelty and has a minimal carbon footprint. In the food section, it sells products that are plant-based alternatives to milk, meat, curd, ice cream, sauces etc.
A press release from CMLC 23 mentioned “‘Veganism’, a way of living that attempts to exclude all forms of animal exploitation and cruelty, is gaining credence among many Coimbatoreans. Businesses that cater to this segment are seen as beacons in providing sustainable alternatives.”
With such regards, the association aspires to honour companies that promote a greener way of life through their products.
