PSG iTech discusses ‘Building Sustainable Smart Cities’

The inauguration function of the ISTE approved Short-term Training Programme on “Application of Geospatial Technologies in Building Sustainable Smart Cities”, conducted by the Department of Civil Engineering, PSG Institute of Technology and Applied Research, Neelambur, Coimbatore, was held on Monday.

The chief guest of the function, K.Elangovan, Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore, delivered the inaugural address.

He explained the salient features of the Smart Cities Mission launched by the Government of India and also the objectives of the mission which include applying smart solutions to infrastructure and services in area-based development in order to make the cities a better place for living.

He stressed the need to makes things easy for the people of a city through smart technologies, as people are the core of a city, and cities that work for their people will continuously become better versions of themselves with each passing day. 75 participants from renowned institutions across different parts of India and 2 International participants are attending the STTP.
