Bring laurels to yourself and to your alma mater!

-L.Gopalakrishnan, Managing Trustee, PSG & Sons’ Charities

“This is an important day for Graduating Students. You have come through challenges that were thrown at you, and are getting inducted into an established Alumni network.”

“In the past 70 years, these institutions have presented about 1 lakh alumni, distributed around the world. The Alumni association chapters have contributed to the development of society and alma mater in various ways. Industry associations like CODISSIA, COINDIA, SITRA, SIMA, ICCIC, SIEMA, Foundrymen’s Association and many other are either founded or headed by PSG’s Alumni, and this is one of the main reason for Coimbatore and its surrounding area’s growth.”

“Our alumni support students with scholarship, mentoring, internship, job recruitment, and other development of the college.”

He wished the students to join with the senior alumni and achieve several laurels for themselves and to the alma mater.

Support rendered by the association is an envy for others – K.V.Karthik

Karthik said SIEMA has a special bond with PSG Institutions because Dr.G.R.Damodaran who is the Founder Principal of PSG Tech is also the Founder of SIEMA, whereas G.Varadaraj, the Former Managing Trustee of PSG & Sons’ Charities and C.R.Swaminathan, the Former CEO of PSG Institutions have headed SIEMA.

Addressing the final year students, he said they all will be on the cusp of coming out from the safety of their parents to lead an independent life, and there will be thousands of questions haunting them. “The answer for these can be only provided by those who have passed through the same phase”, he opined.

He said that in PSG Tech’s Alumni Association, they can find many who have passed the same phase successfully. “No other institution in the country has such an active alumni network as PSG. The kind of support rendered among PSG Alumni is an envy for others”, he emphasized. The support given by this association to the students stepping into higher education in foreign countries is great.

Sharing his personal experience from his higher studies period, Karthik said that the institution where he studied did not have a proper Alumni network, and he was all by himself abroad when he studied in the UK. He urged the students to make use of PSG’s Alumni Association. He said that they are fortunate to have seniors as mentors.

He spoke to them about the greatness of the college’s Founder Dr.G.R.Damodaran. He said that GRD’s remark ‘Think and See Beyond’ has shaped PSG Tech and the entire engineering activity of the region, and the best way for the alumni to honor this institution and its visionary founder is to become distinguished alumni.
