The ECE Department of PSG iTech recently organized the second phase of a week-long Online Refresher Program on Integration of Pedagogical Strategies with ICT for Transformation of Engineering Education.
Venkat, Director, Faculty Development Program, AICTE, New Delhi was the Chief Guest of this AICTE-ISTE sponsored Refresher/Induction Program. He spoke about the importance of participating in Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) and enhancing various skills required for an effective teaching and learning process.
Subbaraj, Dean, Electrical Sciences, PSG iTech spoke about a paradigmatic shift in the teaching and learning process, especially the transformation from faculty-centric to student-centric and other flexibilities in learning.
Also, he stressed the importance of motivating students in learning rather than merely delivering bookish knowledge, which is readily available. In addition, he requested the members of faculty to lecture less, motivate the students, and interact more.
Earlier, the college Principal G.Chandramohan delivered the welcome address, college Secretary P.V.Mohanram, delivered the presidential address. P. Vetrivelan, Head of the Dept. (in-charge), Dept. of ECE, and the coordinator of the program formally expressed gratitude to the guests and participants.
