The First International Conference on Next Generation Computing Systems (ICNGCS 2021) was inaugurated at PSG Institute of Technology and Applied Research on Friday.
The conference was organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. Dhiraj Rajaram, Founder, Chairman and CEO, Mu Sigma Inc was the Chief Guest. Karthik Vaidyanathan, Co-Founder and CTO at Reelbox and Vivek Kalagara, CTO, Data Foundry were the Guests of Honor.
Chandramohan, Principal and MohanRam, Secretary, PSG iTech addressed the gathering. In the inaugural address, Dhiraj Rajaram emphasized the purpose of data engineering, i.e., making sense out of data which will help in making appropriate decisions from time to time. He differentiated the concepts of Data Engineering, Data Science and Decision Science with a live example of minimizing the turn_around_ time at airlines with a beautiful video clipping.
He quoted that in the future, Knowing is of less importance and Learning is of paramount importance. He also gave an example of a cricket match to highlight the current scenario, the need for all-rounders, the capacity to take risks.
Totally, 91 research papers were received and after peer review 58 papers were selected for presentation at the conference. Earlier, Manimegalai, Professor and Head, Department of Computer Science and Engineering welcomed the gathering. In the end, Prof. Priya Ponnusamy, Conference Convener expressed gratitude to the guests and participants.
