Gem Hosp. opens Minimally Invasive Gyanecology Centre of Excellence

Tamilisai Soundararajan, Governor of Telangana inaugurated the ‘Minimally Invasive Gynaecology Surgery Centre of Excellence at GEM hospital through video conferencing during on International Women’s Day celebration.

She appreciated GEM hospital for providing training and specialty care in abdominal surgery. Commented on Palanivelu’s significant achievement in the field of laparoscopy and robotic surgery.

A press release from Gem Hospital said that the newly inaugurated centre will focus on Urogynecological issues such as urinary incontinence, prolapse. The newly inaugurated Dr. Palanivelu’s Minimally Invasive Cancer Surgery Centre has an exclusive department to cater to women’s cancer-related diseases like uterine, cervix and ovarian cancers.

Apart from this GEM, does a cervical cancer vaccination regularly. Dr. Kavitha, Gynaecologist at GEM said that regular screening program will be held during the whole of March and April including Sunday at free of cost.

GEM Department of obesity and diabetes surgery conducted an annual bariatric support group meet (New Leaf – 2021) on the occasion of International Women’s day, which is a first of its kind. Around 100 post Bariatric patients participated. Psychiatric therapy, Fitness training, dietary counselling was also a part of the program. Best participants were awarded at the end of the program.
