R.Dhinakaran IPS took charge as the new Inspector General of Police, West Zone, Coimbatore on Wednesday ( 24.2.2021). A press-meet was held on the same day at the IG’s office here in Race Course Road, where he shared about his plans that he wishes to implement here.
The IG conveyed that he has already served as Coimbatore’s Superintendent of Police between 2002-2005, and he knows West Zone quite well.
4-Point Agenda:
He said that immediate action will be taken on the grievance, petitions and all complaints from the public. Illegal activities taking place in the city will be prevented and stopped. Severe action will be taken on miscreants and anti-social forces, and also the police under him will take better steps to ensure that this upcoming election will run smooth.
Periaiah transferred to Chennai :
K.Periaiah IPS who held the Inspector General of Police, West Zone, Coimbatore post has been transferred to Chennai. He now serves as IGP of Police, General, Chennai.
