Country chicken is the most preferred choice of chicken lovers, regardless of whether they are from the urban or the rural side. Going successful with its objective to provide healthy and tasty country chicken to the people in Tamil Nadu, Triken, the company that gave Coimbatore’s first exclusive country chicken meat shop has now launched its fourth outlet at Sundarapuram.
It was inaugurated by Sivaramakrishnan, Chairman, Kangayam Animal Breeding Group & Palayakottai Gradute Veterinary Reasearch Farm.
What makes Triken’s Country Chicken unique is that they are of the Asil Peruvidai breed (Tamil Nadu’s indigenous fighting fowl) and they belong to the free-range category. For several hundred years, Asil Peruvidai breed has been the most sought country chicken breed in Tamil Nadu, for its taste.
Meanwhile, looking at the ‘free range’ concept, Triken conveyed that their birds are raised true to nature in the farm belonging to the company that’s situated in a village in Sultanpet, Coimbatore.
Regarding this, Triken Chicken’s MD Kathiravan, said that “we at Triken raise our fowls in a coconut farm where they are free to play, perch, fight, dust bath and graze on green pastures. We feed our hens with all kinds of natural food that includes vegetables, corn, earth worms from compost pits and coconuts. This makes them healthy, and the meat obtained from these fowls, more nutritious.”
It was also conveyed that the company makes sure their carefully raised chicken are handled by skilled butchers. They are cut well and packed in bio degradable boxes made of Areca Leaf (paaku mattai). This 4th shop in Coimbatore is one of the many to come. Triken is now welcoming people interested to become franchisees, and is also going to expand its operations in Chennai in the next 6 months to 1 year.
