Commemorating its 30 years of journey in Laparoscopy, Gem Hospital, Coimbatore launched ‘Dr.Palanivelu’s Minimally Invasive Cancer Surgery Centre’ on Wednesday.
K.Rajamani IAS, District Collector, Coimbatore, Dr.Sada Sivam, Senior Cancer Surgeon, Rajasekhar, District Governor – Elect, Rotary District 3201, Janakiram Raju, President RCC Metropolis did the inauguration.
The center will provide minimally invasive cancer surgery aided by advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery for cancers in esophagus, stomach, liver, pancreas, anus, colon, biliary tract, urogenital cancer of kidney, prostate, urinary bladder, gynecology onco surgery of uterus cervix ovary.
The center will also conduct free screening camps throughout this year across Tamil Nadu. The objective of these camps is to educate people on symptoms, various curable treatments and to stress on early detection of cancer.
Also, in connection with World Cancer Day, the hospital also launched an exclusive 24/7 cancer helpline 9842210174 and E-mail cancerinfo@geminstitute.in
These will provide patients anywhere in India assistance and expert panel guidance across various specialties,online consultation and screening for cancer.
