Rotary Clubs see their eco-work rewarded with results

The desilting work done by six Rotary Clubs in Coimbatore at the pond near KadaikaranKuttai in Devarayapuram, Coimbatore has proved to be very beneficial in saving the water from the monsoon rains.

Rotary Clubs of Coimbatore Aakruthi, Centennial, Kovaipudur, Manchester, Meridian and West under the leadership of Asst. Governor Rtn C.T. Thiagarajan and GGR Rtn C.K. Sashikumar jointly with Kovai Kulangal Pathukappu Amaippu (KKPA), a Coimbatore based registered (trust) NGO and Kovai Journalists & Media Welfare Club signed up an assignment to desilt Kadaikaran Kuttai in Devarayapuram, Coimbatore.

The inauguration of the work had begun with a Pooja on September 26, 2020 at Devarayapuram in the presence of Social Activist S. P. Anbarasan, President, Nallaram Trust and President, Amma IAS Academy, DD Rtn MD R.S Maruti, Panchayat President, Government officials and villagers.

The work is still in progress. The cost of the project is Rs 2,00,000/-. All the six clubs expressed gratitude to the coordinator, Asst. Governor Rtn C.T. Thiagarajan for his efforts, the Dist. Administration, Panchayat President and all the residents of Devarayapuram for the opportunity given to serve the society.
