Efforts of KGF result in flight from Covai to Singapore

As announced earlier by Air India Express, the much anticipated Coimbatore to Singapore flight came into operations on 18th November 2017.  Businessmen and travellers from this region and passengers from Palakkad in Kerala will also get significantly benefited with the introduction of the new flight.

An association of socially responsible representatives from seven districts comprising Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Karur, Nilgris, Salem, Erode and Namakkal was formed in March 2017.

Earlier, the businessmen and travellers of the region had to travel either to Kochi or Trichy by road or transit through Bangalore or Chennai or Mumbai or New Delhi for their international destinations. Now, with the efforts by the Kongu Global Forum, Air India Express announced the introduction of flights from New Delhi – Coimbatore – Singapore sector, which would make travelling easy for Kongu region, according to a release.

The forum said that Sri Lankan Airlines has already connected Coimbatore with Colombo since July 2017. In the future, KGF would keep the Airports Authority of India and Civil Aviation Ministry informed of the demands to provide more flight services from Coimbatore both domestically and internationally for the development of various businesses in the region.

However, the Forum also has a charter of demands including the demand for a direct flight from Coimbatore to New Delhi in the morning and vice versa in the afternoon, one stop flight to Pune via Chennai and Vijayawada and to increase the services of existing Hyderabad flight from Coimbatore on a daily basis.
