KPRIET takes part in Fit-India Freedom Run

KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology (KPRIET) took part in the Fit-India Freedom Run event on Saturday. This running event is conducted across the country by the Indian Government’s Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports between 15th August – 2nd October 2020.  The main objective of this event is to encourage fitness and help all to get the freedom from obesity, laziness, stress, anxiety, diseases etc. The concept behind this run is that “It can be run anywhere, anytime!”.

The event at KRPIET  was inaugurated by the college’s Principal Dr.M.Akila in the presence  of Dr.A.M.Natarajan, Chief Executive of the institution. Following proper social distancing norms, over 300 teaching and non teaching staff participated. The march started at the Administrative block, crossed several points and reached the main gate and returned to the college auditorium covering about 3 kilometers.

Dr.Triveni Rajashekhar, a faculty from the college’s Chemistry Department spoke about the importance of physical fitness. The members of the college’s Physical Education Department Thambidurai, Stalin and Muthulakshmi organised the event. Dr.K.P.Ramasamy, Chairman of KPR Institutions appreciated the efforts taken by everyone at KPRIET.
