US Democratic Party’s President Nominee for 2020 Joe Biden condoled the passing of former Indian President Pranab Mukherjee.
Biden stated that Pranab believed deeply in the US-India partnership to tackle the global challenges, and he added “President Shri Pranab Mukherjee was a devout public servant who believed deeply in the importance of our two nations tackling global challenges together. Jill (Joe’s wife) and I are saddened to hear of his passing – our prayers go out to his loved ones and the Indian people,”
Biden had strong friendship with Pranab Mukherjee. He served as the member of Senate Foreign Relationship Committee and later became its Chairman and USA’s Vice President. Pranab was one of the most well-known Indian leaders in the US.
The US India Business Council said “India has lost an incredible statesman- a longtime supporter of US-India Partnership” The New York Times called Pranab as the Indispensable man of Indian Politics. Several US leaders expressed grief over Pranab’s death.
