Student-Inventors display innovative projects, receive financial support

In a bid to tap the talents of students, the Nehru Group of Institutions under the aegis of NSTEDB, Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India established New Generation Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (NEWGEN IEDC) wherein student-inventors showed their prowess in coming out with innovative projects.

Dr. P. Krishnakumar, CEO & Secretary, NGI saidInterestingly, about 25 projects in the previous and the present academic year (2019-20 & 2020-21) were recognized by DST, Government of India which would get a financial support of Rs 2.5 lakh from DST as a token of recognition for students’ innovative attempt. This would motivate them to go the extra mile in their chosen line of interest.”

The projects –  ‘Automatic Analysis of Soil for Plant Growth’, ‘Automatic Spinach Soup Machine’,  ‘Vertical axis wind turbine with wind boosters for urban & rural areas’, ‘R Rubber Tiles for LANS flooring’, ‘Vegetable Curry Maker’, Floor Cleaning Cyborg Wiper’, ‘Automated equipment to monitor Mask-Wearing, body temperature with automatic sanitizer dispenser for public places’, ‘Automatic Livestock Barn Monitor’, ‘Medi- Copter’, ‘Battery Powered Smart Agrochemical Sprayer’, ‘Smart Health Monitor’, ‘Biosensor for Rapid Detection of Snake Bites’, ‘Anti-Nicotine Chocolate’, ‘Not So Paperly Paper’, an innovative device using Quad Copter for Mining & Exploration’, ‘Dual axis floating Solar Tracking Photovoltaic Cells’, ‘Overhead Distribution Line Fault Detection System’, ‘Advanced PCB Printing Technology without Etching’, ‘Automated and Portable Vertical Solar Stacker’, ‘SOWAFIS-Soap Water Filtering System’, ‘Portable Dual Screen Attachments for Laptops’, ‘Smart Number Plate’– received the support.
