Rotary G-39 Clubs roll out development plans for Pichanoor Village

Rotary Clubs of Coimbatore in Rotary International District 3201 under the guidance of District Governor Rtn. Jose Chacko donated 21 shelters to the poor folks of Najappa Nagar in Pichanoor Village on Wednesday, and have also announced various development-plans for the village.

This was done as a part of Rotary District 3201’s YES Day – a day to support Youth, Environment and provide Shelter. The shelters were provided by Rotary Clubs of Coimbatore – Meridian, Texcity, Gaalaxy, Manchester, Kovaipudur, Vadavalli, Zenith, Smartcity, Satellite, Town, Downtown, West, Greencity, Centennial, City, Saicity, Heritage, Spectrum and Aakruthi. Along with shelter, solar-powered lighting system were provided to the villagers.

District Director R.S.Maruti, Assistant Governors, Governor’s Group Representatives, Club Presidents and Secretaries participated in this event along with the club members and provided the shelters to the villagers. This activity is just the Phase 1 of the agenda, and more beneficial projects are to come for them though Rotary.

As there are no reliable transport facilities in the village, Rotary Cycle Stand was set up in the village with 10 cycles at free of cost, so that the students, villagers may use it anytime and return it to the stand.

In a very short time, G-39 Clubs will set up a community hall, drip irrigation system, provide care for women’s health and malnutrition and conduct medical camps too. The club members provided lunch for the villagers.

This YES Day is a priority project of District Governor Rtn.Jose Chacko and many such supportive projects are being done by other G-39 Clubs in Coimbatore.
