Brookefields Khadi day

Khadi or khaddar is handspun, hand-woven natural fiber cloth. It has been referred to as the ‘fabric of Indian independence’ and had a key role to play in the freedom struggle.

On this Gandhi Jayanthi, to celebrate the ‘fabric of Indian independence’, Brooke fields encouraged the use of Khadi, by organizing Brookefields Khadi day.

And they made a platform for Apparel and Fashion Designing students of PSG College of Technology, to display their beautiful products such as earrings, wallets and wall hangings made from Khadi .

As Khadi is synonymous with our Indian independence moment, symbolises high values, freedom, self-reliance and self-confidence, this initiative is to promote Khadi amongst the present generation. The beautiful handspun and hand woven fabric can be used to make various products from garments to accessories to art& crafts work.

Today (2.10.17) the Mall visitors who were wear Khadi got some exciting gifts at the Special Khadi Zone at central Atrium.
