Army officer and 2 soldiers killed after violent face-off with Chinese troops

Three Indian Soldiers including a commanding officer who were posted in Galwan Valley were killed after a violent face-off with the Chinese Troops on Monday night. The Indian Army had said that both sides have faced causalities.

A statement from the Indian Army said “during de-escalation process underway in the Galwan Valley, a violent face-off took place yesterday night with casualties on both sides. The loss of lives on the Indian side includes an officer and two soldiers. Senior military officials of the two sides are currently meeting at the venue to defuse the situation.”

Army sources said that more details will be given in the evening. The situation comes after India and China have diplomatically lightened the tight LAC issue at Ladakh.
