Doctors were prepared to announce my death – PM Boris Johnson

Prime Minister of United Kingdom Boris Johnson shared on Sunday that his condition turned worse while he was in the ICU taking treatment for COVID-19 infection and the doctors were prepared to announce his death.

The 55 year old Chief of UK got infected with the novel coronavirus on March 27 and tested positive. He was admitted in St.Thomas’ Hospital in London on April 5 and was moved to ICU due to ill-health. While in ICU, his health status failed to respond well to the treatment initially and doctors were prepared to announce his death. But fortunately, the treatment’s results did pay off and the PM retuned to normalcy. After two weeks of battle with the virus, he returned to his duties on April 27.

Johnson stated that the National Health Service is the beating heart of the country and paid tribute to the two nurses who were by his side for 48 hours. His fiancée Carrie Symonds gave birth to a boy recently and he was named Wilfred Lawrie ‘Nicholas’ Johnson.

The boy is named after the grandfathers of the couple- Wilfred after Boris’ and Lawrie after Symonds’. The Middle name ‘Nicholas’ was given in honor of the two doctors – Dr.Nick Price and Dr.Nick Hart who saved the PM.
