– Vanathi Srinivasan requests Home Ministry
BJP-Tamil Nadu General Secretary Vanathi Srinivasan expressed her gratitude to Home Minister Amit Shah for granting permission to add Sanitary Pads under Essential Goods list.
In a Tweet from her official Twitter handle, she mentioned that as many as 4 small units run by Self Help Group are engaged in the manufacture of Sanitary Pads.
She pointed out that as the number of workers involved in this process are very few, the concept of social distancing could be maintained easily.
Moreover, majority of the people in Self Help Groups are downtrodden, who despite their financial situation are trying to contribute their share to the community’s benefit.
She requested the Home Minister to allow the entire supply chain (procurement of raw matierials, manufacturing and logisitics) that is involved in this essential commodity to function.
