Arima launches source segregation of waste project in Wakefield

A project for segregation of garbage at source was launched by Sravankumar Jatavath, Commissioner, Coimbatore Corporationat Arima Wakefield housing complex situated on the Avinashi road.

Speaking on the occasion, Sravankumar Jatavath said the occupant/owners of the flats here should help to maintain a clean environment by segregating the solid wastes into biodegradable and non-biodegradable at the source itself. By this way, the owners would be contributing  to keep the environment clean and ultimately the whole town will be clean and green. The Commissioner also sought the cooperation of the flat owners to keep the city clean.

Arima Constructions and Developers said that they have created all the facilities for sustainable living. An MoU was signed recently with Domestic Waste Management Solutions (DWMS) to collect and transport segregated waste. Arima Wakefield will have the unique distinction of being the first apartment to take up source segregation of waste will start by all its residents from day one. Apart from this State of the art fire safety systems have been installed and training will be given to all the residents, Rainwater Harvesting system at the campus will ensure recharging of water. A Sewage Treatment Plant (STP)has been erected and is operational.
